Zoe Wyatt

Partner & Head of Crypto
& Digital Assets

Zoe has been a corporate international tax specialist for the past 15 years. She advises start-ups to large multinational Web3 companies on their UK and cross border tax issues.

Through her knowledge of key international tax systems and anti-avoidance rules she takes a holistic approach to a project’s global tax needs, developing the blueprint solution, project managing implementation and providing strategic support. This has included structuring a growing number of DAO and NFT projects, tax implications for digital land, indirect tax considerations for metaverse commerce and associated accounting issues.

Zoe co-chairs the DAO and NFT tax working groups for the trade body CryptoUK and is an adviser to the Crypto Tax & AccountingAll-Party Parliamentary Group. She is also leading a cross European cryptoasset tax guidance project.

Ben Lee

Partner

Ben is a Partner within Andersen’s crypto team and leads the team’s accounting and compliance offering. Ben’s passion for the crypto space is shown through his relationships with his client base, having provided tax and financial services to a large number of successful projects and platforms across the spectrum of digital asset sectors.

Ben is vocal about wanting the UK to be a place for this technology to thrive and is a member of the ICAEW’s Financial Reporting working group on digital assets, and the Chartered Institute of Taxation’s digital asset working group. A seasoned writer and speaker, Ben has published various articles and commentary on a range of issues surrounding regulation and taxation of digital assets and was ranked as a Top Recommended Cryptocurrency Advisor for high net worth individuals by Spears500 in 2022.

Laura Knight

International and Crypto Tax Director

Laura is an international private client tax specialist, with 20 years of experience. Through her own investment in cryptoassets since 2017, followed by advising individual investors in cryptoassets, users of DeFi platforms, crypto hobbyists and NFT creators, Laura has developed an expertise in the taxation of such transactions, extraction of data from wallets and exchanges and satisfying tax compliance and reporting obligations.

Laura also brings significant experience in complex tax investigation matters. Laura jointly established and co-chairs the CryptoUK primary tax working group and NFT sub-group.

Dion Seymour

Crypto Tax & Accounting Technical Director

Dion is Crypto Tax and Accounting Technical Director. He has extensive tax technical experience in cryptoassets and was formerly the cryptoasset policy and product owner at HMRC. He brings unparalleled in-depth knowledge on direct and indirect taxation for individuals and businesses, the OECD’s Crypto-Asset Reporting Framework (CARF), and HMRC investigations. He has a fantastic reputation amongst other professional advisers and key industry players and is a seasoned speaker on the subject.

James Paull

Partner – Head of Incentives

James is a partner and Head of Incentives. He has over 20 years experience advising on employee and partner incentives structures, latterly at a senior level at PwC. James has become the firm’s specialist in advising Web3 companies on how to provide token incentives to shareholders, founders, contractors and employees.

Drawing on his international experience and working with Andersen Global member firms to advise on a multijurisdictional basis.

Helen Siqin

Associate Director

Helen is a senior manager specialising in the international tax considerations for Web3 companies. Her client experience ranges from SMEs to large multinational groups.

Having spent 8 years in PwC’s National Technical team Helen also has broad indirect tax (VAT, GST, US state and local tax) experience and a special interest in how this applies to the issuance of utility tokens and NFTs. Helen is fully involved in all aspects of client management and has significant experience in project management and implementation of multi-jurisdictional structures.

Marek Krawczyk

Partner and Head of US Business Tax

Marek is a Partner and Head of US Business Tax at Andersen LLP. Marek advises Web3 corporates, DAOs and founders on their US tax considerations. Including:

  • US expansion, US trading income, and permanent establishment
  • US treaty qualification and access
  • Cross border M&A involving US entities or US investors
  • US anti-tax avoidance – PFIC, GILTI, Subpart F computations, planning, and compliance
  • US business financing and cash extraction
  • Investor issues such as UBTI, qualified dividends, timing mismatches, and credit mismatches
  • Corporate compliance (1120, 1120-F)
  • Partnership compliance (1065, 8865)
  • Complex cross border tax issues, particularly the interaction between the U.K. and U.S. tax systems and mitigating double taxation
