Andersen bolsters private client tax practice with new partner
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Partner Keith Meyer, who joins our Private Client tax group.
Keith joins from Deloitte UK, where he spent 14 years as a Director. Prior to that, he was with KPMG UK for 12 years. Keith began his career in the US with Arthur Andersen (legacy Andersen) in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1993.
With nearly 30 years’ experience practising both in the US and the UK, Keith provides specialist advice on a wide range of international personal tax issues, including tax planning, complex tax residency and domicile cases, and UK and US taxation of offshore structures, including companies and family trusts.
Keith advises international high net worth individuals, fund managers, senior executives, law firm partners, company founders, trusts and companies, as well as expatriate employers and employees.
Commenting on his appointment, Keith said: “I am delighted to be returning to Andersen, having begun my career with Arthur Andersen in Atlanta nearly 30 years ago. I look forward to playing my part in the Firm’s continued success.”
Commenting on developments in the market, Keith said: “The majority of US UHNWIs are now multi-jurisdictional, with the US and UK being a very common combination, making the need for tax advice that considers both countries more relevant than ever. This is particularly pertinent in light of the pressure on governments to find ways to raise revenue to help pay for the extraordinary spending necessitated by the pandemic – pressure that has them taking a hard look at the tax treatment of the wealthy.”
Julian Nelberg, Managing Partner and Head of the Private Client group, commented: “Keith is one of the most experienced US/UK individual tax advisors in the market. We are thrilled that he has joined us, and his expertise will be invaluable as we continue to grow and develop the team.”
